As the curtains close on another academic year at RDF International School, it is with immense pride and satisfaction that I, Principal Stephen Pellerine, reflect on our journey together.
在瑞得福国际学校又一个学年落下帷幕之际，我，作为瑞得福校长，怀着无比自豪和满足的心情，回顾我们共同走过的历程。
The final week of the academic year was filled with challenges and celebrations, marking the end of a chapter and the beginning of a new one. Our students persevered, showing remarkable dedication and effort during the final exams. Their focus and determination were commendable, and it was heartening to see them give their best.
本学年的最后一周充满了挑战和庆祝，标志着一个篇章的结束和一个新篇章的开始。我们的学生坚持不懈，在期末考试中表现出了非凡的奋斗和努力。他们的专注和决心值得称赞，看到他们全力以赴令人振奋。
We culminated the week, and indeed the year, with our annual awards ceremony. This year's event was particularly special, spanning nearly three hours of celebration and recognition. Awards were presented to students who excelled academically, made significant contributions to our school community, and displayed an unwavering school spirit. Each awardee's achievements are a testament to their hard work and commitment.
我们的年度颁奖典礼将本周乃至全年的活动推向了高潮。今年的颁奖典礼尤为特别，庆祝和表彰活动持续了近三个小时。我们向学习成绩优异、在社区服务中做出重大贡献以及展现出坚定不移的瑞得福精神的学生颁发了奖项。每一位获奖者的成就都是对他们努力学习和奉献精神的最好证明。
In a new tradition this year, we also honored our dedicated teachers. Students from different levels nominated their teachers, and we had the pleasure of acknowledging their invaluable contributions. It was a heartwarming moment to see how much our students appreciate their mentors.
作为今年的新传统，我们还表彰了尽职尽责的教师。来自不同年级的学生提名了他们的老师，我们很高兴能表彰他们的宝贵贡献。学生们对恩师的感激之情溢于言表，令人感动。
Furthermore, teachers also recognized their peers, presenting three special awards: for pedagogical excellence, for being the most helpful, and for being the overall contributor to the RDF community. These awards are a tribute to the unwavering dedication and professionalism of our teaching staff.
此外，教师们还表彰了他们的同事，颁发了三个特别奖：优秀教学奖、最乐于助人奖和对 RDF 社区贡献最大奖。这些奖项是对我们教学人员坚定不移的奉献精神和专业素养的肯定。
As we bid farewell to this academic year, I want to express my gratitude to every member of the RDF Family. Your support, enthusiasm, and dedication have been the backbone of our school's success.
在告别本学年之际，我要向瑞得福大家庭的每一位成员表示感谢。你们的支持、热情和奉献是我校成功的支柱。
Now, as we embark on our summer break, I wish each and every one of you a wonderful summer holiday. May this time be filled with relaxation, adventure, and quality time with loved ones.

校长的年度颁奖典礼演讲
Dear students and colleagues,
Today, I stand before you as we are soon about to embark on a summer break, a well-deserved break. My intention today is to deliver a message of inspiration and encouragement. Also, I want to give you a special bookmark.
Before I do that, I would like to take a moment to reflect.
We did many wonderful things together this year.
We attended many classes
We had many ECAs
We met with your parents
We had a super fun field day
We had an amazing Haloween event
We had students go to France, Indonesia, Guanxi, Hainan, and various points within Shenzhen
We had many student volunteers involved in philanthropic work of various sorts
We held our annual charity event
We had morning reading sessions, and hats off to all that came with a special thanks to the teachers who volunteered to meet you each and every day, early. We really appreciate such dedication.
We had dubbing competitions, story telling, band events with musical evenings, dance competitions and so much more
We bid fairwell to 66 graduates, who finished their book, the book of basic education.
This year was a wonderful year
Now let's look at our bookmark. You have not yet completed your book of basic education and are turning pages, and as you go from one grade to the next you are starting a new chapter. This bookmark is a symbol and a reminder. The symobol, to be very clear is the summer break as a pause before we start a new chapter, in September.
I want to share with you some reminders in your personal "DO Bookmark" - a list of goals and aspirations that I invite you to join me in pursuing your own.
First and foremost, we must always remember to learn. Learning is a lifelong journey, and it doesn't stop when the school bell rings. In Summer 2024, I aim to achieve a 10/10 in my do list, but remember, even if you score 10%, you win because you've challenged yourself and will have grown.
During this summer, I plan to visit a new place. Exploring the world widens our horizons and teaches us valuable lessons about diversity and culture. Meeting a new friend is also a goal, as friendship enriches our lives and provides us with support and companionship.
Reading a book is a must. Books are windows to different worlds and minds, and they can inspire us, challenge us, and help us grow. Physical books are best. Additionally, I've set physical goals. I challenge you to train for 20 push-ups and to run 2 km with ease. If that’s easy now make it 50 and 5 km. Or do the two faster. You get the idea – push beyond where you are now. Health and fitness are essential for a happy and productive life.
If you are taking Advanced Placement (AP) classes next year, I encourage you to order a support textbooks for each course and start reading them early. This will give you a solid foundation and prepare you for the challenges of AP courses.
Identifying your weakest subject and learn more about it this summer, this is crucial to overcome. We all have areas where we can improve, and by focusing on these areas, we can achieve greater success and expand our overall awarness.
As part of building ourselves, I suggest taking a photo of something special you do this summer and send them to me for the school newsletter. This is a way to share your experiences and accomplishments with our community. This builds thr minds of others.
Writing an essay for English class and delivering it on the first day is another great way to start the school year with confidence. It will help you organize your thoughts and be prepared for the year ahead. Feel free to send these to me should you want me to share in our community newsletter. That inspires others.
Studying three new words a day and writing them into a fiction story is a fun and effective way to expand your vocabulary. Vocabulary is the building blocks of language, and the more words you know, the more effectively you can communicate, but don’t memorize hundreds of words, not understanding and mastering their usage. Be selective and go deep in your learning.
Lastly, do something special this summer. It could be anything that brings you joy, fulfills a passion, helps others, or develops you. Make it meaningful and beneficial.
Remember, one thing, you can change any or all of these activities and the number of, to suit your interests and energy levels. But do something developmental and meanigful. Come back better.
Next year, we will all do even better.
Next year we will do better in serving you more English. We will ask all of you to come back being ready to communicate more in English than before, and we will insist that teachers enforce English usage in the classroom. We did a good job this year. We want to do better next year, from bell to bell. We will DO.
Next year, let’s be more selective with ECAs and activities. We will have you sign up for clubs you truly like and ask you to attend. Teachers that agree to supervise these ECAs will help you develop more than before. Many clubs were very successful this year, and we want to celebrate that. But, we also want to do even better. We will DO.
In conclusion, I want to leave you with this message: if you work for your visions, you can have them. DO. Set goals for yourself, make a plan, and take action. DO. Be honest about your weaknesses and let us help you conquer these. Remember, even the smallest steps forward are still steps in the right direction. Let's all strive for excellence this summer and beyond. Together we will DO.
Use this bookmark. Use it physically as you read books, and symbolically to prompt determination to do better.

我们有配音比赛、故事讲述比赛、乐队活动、音乐之夜、舞蹈比赛等等等等，
我们向66名毕业生道别，他们完成了自己的书，即基础教育的书。
今年是美好的一年。
现在让我们看看我们的书签。你们还没有完成基础教育这本书，你们正在翻页，当你们从一个年级升到下一个年级时，你们就开始了一个新的章节。这个书签是一个象征，也是一个提醒。这个象征非常明确，暑假是我们9月份开始新章节之前的暂停。
我想和你们分享个人“DO书签”中的一些提醒——一份目标和抱负的清单，我邀请你们和我一起追求自己的目标。
首先，我们必须始终记得学习。学习是一场终生的旅程，它不会因为学校铃声的响起而停止。在2024年的暑假，我计划在我的待办事项清单上完成10/10，但请记住，即使你得分10%，你也是赢家，因为你挑战了自己，并会有所成长。
