SIS is the oldest WASC Accredited internatio
nal school in Korea and was the first foreign school licensed by Korea’s Ministry of Education. This year we are celebrating our 50th anniversary. We have been the school of choice for parents in Seoul for the last five decades. SIS has a long and distinguished history of providing a high-quality internatio
nal education for families in Seoul. Our school has had a profound impact on successive generations of students, teachers, parents, and staff both in Korea and around the world. Our collective faculty and staff, our students, and our accomplished alumni are the pride of our organization.
Today’s updated and modern facility is very different from the original school campus created in 1973 by our founder Edward B. Adams. The first school was located on the grounds of Konkuk University. In 1986 we outgrew that location and since then our Bokjeong campus has been the new home of SIS. This campus displays the best of what we have to offer as an internationally recognized, world-class school located in the capital city of South Korea. The ongoing innovations and improvements to our facilities showcase our continued dedication to offering the best of educational outcomes for our students and families.
The SIS students of today are some of the most fortunate in our school’s history. We are blessed with an esthetically beautiful campus, state-of-the-art technology and connectivity, safe facilities for athletics and the arts, new cafeterias and libraries, modern classroom spaces, and a great learning culture in a healthy and positive environment. Our students go on to success at excellent universities around the world focusing mainly on top schools in the USA.
SIS is now also the proud standard bearer for more than 2,800 graduates and thousands of other students who attended our school. These alumni are leaders, innovators, and empathetic change makers and help us showcase individuals who represent the dynamic indicators of the success of our program. Our alumni are involved in a wide variety of careers, countries, and companies around the world as distinguished leaders, proud representatives of SIS and Korea, and interculturally competent global citizens.
Most important of all, we are privileged to currently have 108 of the best educators from around the world in our school with a student body of over 850. They are cared for by a wonderfully capable and supportive Administrative Staff who bring an organizational efficiency to SIS which complements our facilities, academic programs, and traditions of success over the last fifty years.
A good school is not just about the facilities and the resources, however, but about its people and core beliefs.
