MLC School's mission is to educate and inspire young women to be fearless thinkers, with moral courage and compassion to be agents of change in their own lives and the lives of others.
MLC School is an independent, nonselective Uniting Church school for girls from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12 in Sydney’s inner-west. Our tagline 'dare to be more' is not just an expression, it underpins our goal for our students and drives our approach to teaching. Our highly professional staff, under the guidance of Principal Ms Lisa Moloney, challenge and encourage girls of every age to question traditional perceptions and roles of women; and notions of learning.
The MLC School girl is empowered with skills and capabilities that enable her to be adaptive, compassionate and courageous, so she can confidently take her place in an ever-changing world. She embraces new challenges and opportunities; and strives for excellence. She is cared for and well supported so that she can confidently focus on her own individual, personal and academic growth. A wide selection of subject choices, as well as an extensive co-curricular program, aims to empower girls to be self-reliant and play an active role in their futures. The MLC School girl is at the heart of everything we do.
Girls in their final years have the choice of the Higher School Certificate (HSC) or International Baccalaureate Diploma as their pathway of study. MLC School has been offering the IB Diploma for over 20 years and is regarded as an international exemplar in delivering the program. In 2020 and 2021, MLC School was the No 1 IB School in Australia and a Top 50 IB Global School.
Acknowledgement of Country
The MLC School community acknowledges the Wangal People, the traditional custodians of the land on which the School is located. They have protected their land, people and culture and sought to educate their young people. We pay our respects to them and their Elders past and present. We also recognise all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in our community.
